After two years I have reunited with the family that I staid with here in Moyobamba, Peru during a 6-month internship I had here. And now Ann gets to know all the stuff that I'm always talking about! It has been a wirlwind of an adventue so far. Saturday we were in La Paz, Bolivia, the highest capital city in the world. It is certainly a one-of-a-kind city and we enjoyed walking around, seeing a little bit of the city. That evening we parted ways with John and Jenny and we went to the airport to fly to Lima, Peru. Our flight was at 8pm and it looked like for once something would leave in time in Bolivia, but right when we got on it started to hail, and it hailed hard for a good while. So a few minutes later they asked us to get off the plane and we didn't get back on until 1:30am! We finally took off around 2am and were safe in bed at a hotel in Lima by 4am, 5:00 Bolivia time. Sunday we met with Alix, a college friend of mine who lives in Lima. She took us to her church which turned out to be English speaking. Our first church service in English in 4 months. The pastor came up to introduce himself and guess what? He's from Chattanooga! Not only that, he pastored Ridgeview Baptist which is less than a mile from where we grew up! Actually it is right next to the Waffle House my dad used to take me to on Saturday mornings. He said he was also in Ringgold, GA for 20 years and pastored 1st Baptist there. How crazy is that?! There was another missionary couple from Chattanooga there as well.
Anyways, afterwards Alix took us to eat at the best sandwich place in the world, we said goodbye, and Ann and I walked to the Pacific Ocean just a few blocks down the road. It was her first time to see it. We didn't get in, but we will on our return trip. We walked along the gorgeous park along the bluff and then took a taxi to the airport, got to Tarapoto last night, and now we are here. So that's all for now.
