Female Pastors

Drew and I have been able to deepen many relationships here, one of which has been with our pastor. Our pastor is female, which is wonderful for our Church because they really need someone who can be nurturing. I have had many talks with the pastor, and we have developed a solid friendship. Drew and I have talked to her about our marriage, and issues in the marriage that have come up as well. Lately, the pastor has taken it upon herself to help Drew be a little bit more of a "Latin lover." She drops helpful hints to him on how he can better care for me. I have to admit, she gives some good pointers, but she also gives some very cultural pointers. For example, she told Drew that he was too cold with me, he needed to be much more affectionate in public. When we told our American housemates, they laughed, but apparently, Bolivians think there needs to be ample physical signs of affection. The highlight of my day now is when Drew comes home and asks something like: "The pastor was saying women appreciate it when their husbands take them to the doctor when they are sick, do I really need to do that?"

I agree :) Especially in a foreign country. That's funny, though.
