Perezoso

Tonight in women's Bible study, we were talking about how we should not be lazy. The word lazy in Spanish is also the word for sloth. The pastor had just finished talking about this word lazy, in Spanish, perezoso, when she decided to ask to make sure the women were understanding what she was saying.

"Yes!" replied one woman. "They are delicious!"

"Oh" replied the pastor, "I believe we aren't talking about the animal here."

"Well, it wouldn't come out of the tree, it was too slow. So, I killed it and ate it." said the woman.

"She killed it with an axe," said the woman's sister.

"That was before I was a Christian though. Now, I don't kill animals like that."

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
