Coming Home

Happy May Day, which I think in pretty much the rest of the world outside the USA is Labor Day, the biggest day of the year for men to go out and play soccer here in Bolivia. Something special about today for us is that it's the first day of our last full month in Bolivia. As of this past Thursday we officially ruled out grad school in Vermont for Ann so it looks like we are definitely moving to Chattanooga in June. How long? Lord knows. As of now we seem inclined to think it may be a bit of a long stay, but we are sure that our calling to Latin America is certainly not over and we will be back eventually. I guess most people would be running around trying to set up jobs and housing and stuff but we feel more at peace about just showing up and seeing what happens. It would be kind of hard to make any big decisions from here before we are there, especially with all the mixed emotions we are feeling about coming home and about leaving our new home. Sometimes we think about all the amazing stuff here and wonder how we could ever leave and other days we are ready to pack up right then. We also feel like Chattanooga has a lot to offer us and maybe we have something we could share with Chattanooga too. Lord knows. The biggest struggle here will be saying goodbye to our church because we have grown so close and truly depend on one another, but then we look forward to actively engaging our church back home and seeking out ways to impact our city. As far as other little things, I think we talk about what we want to eat in the USA at least a couple times a day, we are excited to see family and friends, and we hope that we will adjust smoothly to new and different stuff. I guess we'll just have to see. That's all for now. I'm sure more thoughts and reflections on our time here will be coming soon, as soon as I can finish this blasted thesis. . .
