Pique Macho

Life is passing us by and we are holding on the best we know how. Drew and I have had the wonderful opportunity of speaking with a wide range of people about Bolivia. Each time we have the opportunity to share, we feel blessed, and it gets us excited all over again.

This Sunday, we will be sharing over a Bolivian meal of pique macho with our Church. We are excited. So many people at Church have been so supportive of us, and excited for us as we look forward to leaving again. Close friends have an idea of what we are doing, but the majority of people don't really know. The hardest part is the 2 minute answer to the question,"So, what will you be doing in Bolivia?" Because of this, we decided to invite our Church to a lunch that would get us a good 20 minutes to share why we are going, and what we will be doing.

Juan and Eva have shared with us that things are going well in the office in Bolivia. There are more needs than we will be able to meet. But Juan and Eva had made good connections with people and other organizations there already. They have begun a panel of Christian non-profits to see how each one can work together, instead of having to recreate the wheel for each need. This is a novel idea for Bolivians, non-profit organizations are an excuse to keep the middle class alive sometimes. Some don't do much work at all, and those that do are encouraged to not collaborate with others for job security purposes.
